The Journey

So Hey! I'm at the beginning of a lot of life changes right now. I'm training for the Augusta Half Ironman in Sept and I'm trying to prepare to get out of the army in Nov! THAT’S HUGE! So anyways I ran the Augusta half marathon last year with almost no preparation which really wasn't the smartest thing to do. (I hurt for two weeks after) and I'm trying to prepare myself a little more adequately this year for the half Ironman. I've come up with a pretty cool training regime. Through a lot of reading I've figured out that HEY IT'S HARD TO RUN AT 235LBS!!! Especially if I don't work up to it. So this year my goal for running weight is 225. Right now I'm hovering around 16% body fat and it's going to take a bit of work to get down much lower.

I do Tabata training 4 Times a week 14 minutes total each time (5 minute warm-up/cool-down and four minutes of hellacious sprints.) I do full body resistance training once a week. I do one long distance run each week and swim anywhere from 3 to 5 times a week for anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. I also mountain bike once a week. All of this breaks down to about an hour of working out a day.
